Helping Middle School Children with Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Programs
At Suffolk DBT, our dialectical behavior therapy program treats middle school-aged children in grades 6th – 8th who are facing a variety of issues and situations including:
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
- High-Functioning Autism
- Impulse Control
- Emotion Regulation
- Emotional Sensitivity
- Victims of Bullying
- Anger Management Issues
- Eating Disorders
- School Refusal
- Suicidal thoughts
We teach the full DBT Program of Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness over the course of 24 weeks. These skills are taught in a multi-family group with both a parent and the child in attendance. Each child must be in individual DBT treatment at Suffolk DBT with parental involvement.
